Novell Moore at the river side
Though she did not like to get into the water, Novell Moore spent many a summer day along side Current River (less than a mile from their house on the farm) watching her children and a host of family and friends swimming, skiing, and having fun.

Novell Moore seen here while visiting her youngest daughter in Greensboro, North Carolina in the late 1970s and 1980s. She often came to visit and stayed for a month or more. She had lots of fun with us during those visits.

Appearing every bit the dignified southern mother she was, Novell Moore was the weekly cook and host of a grand family Sunday dinner for all of her children and their growing families which filled the house with noise, laughter, and love.
