As Raymond Attebery grew older he, like many his age, especially when subjected to all the loud noises associated with home building which he did to earn his living, began to have trouble hearing. But, again like most people, he did not like to admit it.
One day he was applying for some life insurance and the agent was visiting his home to fill out the application form. The agent was going one by one down through his list of standardized questions and asked, "Do you have any trouble hearing?"
Not hearing well enough to understand the question, Raymond responded with, "What did you say?"
The agent repeated the question and Raymond quickly replied, "No, no, nothing like that!"
