Obituary

Jewel Rae (Judy) Baxter, 86, of Jonesboro, Arkansas passed away December 28, 2012 in the NEA Baptist Hospital. She was born August 27, 1926 at Brownwood, Missouri to the late Henry Ray Smith and Bessie Jewel Strange Smith.

On September 11, 1943 at Reno, Arkansas she was married to Carney R. Baxter. He survives.

Also surviving are two children, Rodney Alan Baxter and wife Cynthia of Houston, Texas and Ruth Baxter Meek and husband Richard of Jonesboro, Arkansas. One brother, Lowell Smith of Hoxie, Arkansas. Three grandchildren, Traecy, Todd, and Zak. Five great grandchildren, Tyan, Rachael, Claire, Kate and Tessa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, as well as two sisters, Edna Lee Smith and Bernice Shaw; and one brother, Doyle Smith.

She enjoyed softball, Track, basketball and cheerleading in school. She was a member of the Friendship Assembly of God at Jonesboro, Arkansas.
